The piece
Sole is a half-metre disc of woven rattan that hangs flat and close, like a straw hat left on the ceiling. Because it is wide and shallow it lights a table without ever getting in the way of the faces around it.
Look up into it and the weave becomes a spiral running out from the centre. Look at the wall and you will see that spiral repeated, stretched and soft. It is the piece we photograph most, because it does something a plain shade cannot: it turns one bulb into a whole ceiling of pattern.

Bulbs are not included — we recommend a warm-white 2200–2700K LED so the weave and the stone keep their colour. Every piece is made by hand, so small differences in tone and pattern are normal.
